Ryan has experience with a spectrum of musculoskeletal issues — back and neck pain, headaches, joint pain, sprains and strains, postural problems, and other movement-related discomfort. We also work with people who aren’t injured but want clarity on their physical health and guidance for long-term wellbeing.

We treat within a biopsychosocial and neurophysiological framework.

Active care first

Manual therapy where useful. Rehab to optimise outcomes.

Prevention built in

We target capacity, not just symptoms to reduce future flare-ups.

Measured progress

Strength, range, function. We track what matters.

Dr. Ryan Bonney

Meet our Chiropractor

Dr Ryan Bonney is a chiropractor and neuromusculoskeletal clinician with more than fifteen years of experience working across multidisciplinary teams in Australia and overseas. His career has centred on integrating hands-on care with evidence-based rehabilitation, long-term health planning, and a strong emphasis on patient self-efficacy.

Ryan’s clinical approach is shaped by extensive postgraduate training in spinal diagnosis, migraine and headache disorders, dizziness and balance conditions, and chronic pain neuroscience. In 2015, he earned board certification in neurorehabilitation (DACNB), and later became a Diplomate of the International Academy of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (DIANM). Additional training through the Neuro Orthopaedic Institute (NOI) deepened his focus on contemporary pain science.

Alongside this, Ryan has a long history in the fitness and performance world. He is a qualified Strength & Conditioning Coach and previously ran a well known Adelaide-based gym, helping people bridge the gap between clinical care, physical preparation, and sustainable movement capacity. He has also taught Clinical Neuroscience and Diagnosis at the Australian Chiropractic College , contributing to the next generation of clinicians.

Aevora Health brings these threads together. Ryan’s work centres on preventative health and longevity – using validated metrics, structured assessment, and targeted intervention to help people understand where they stand today, and how to build greater physical resilience for the decades ahead. His philosophy is simple: meaningful change comes from clear data, collaborative planning, and an active role in your own health journey.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

• Do I need a referral?

No. You’re welcome to book directly. We also accept referrals from GPs, specialists, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, personal trainers, and other health practitioners. You may be eligible for a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (GPCCMP), subsidised through Medicare. We can explore eligibility if you are interested.

Treatment may include manual therapy, joint mobilisation, soft tissue work, rehabilitation exercise with load-based progression, or movement re-training. The exact approach depends on your goals, your condition, and current evidence for what works best.

In so far as specific techniques that are often requested, Ryan can utilise the following:

Dry Needling, Joint Manipulation, Cupping, Biomechanical Blocking (SOT), Trigger Point Therapy, Drop Piece, Activator, Muscle Release Techniques, Gonstead adjusting, and Diversified adjusting styles.

Yes, in most cases. We strongly believe in active care — building capacity, not dependency. You’ll receive clear, achievable exercises tailored to your condition and lifestyle.

NB. As with all forms of treatment, it’s rarely a one-size-fits-all, and you will not be ‘forced’ to exercise if you’re not interested. We can be flexible!

If joint manipulation is appropriate and you’re comfortable with it, it can be included. If you prefer not to have manipulation, that’s completely fine — we have many effective non-manipulative options and will adapt treatment to your preferences.

Your practitioner will take a thorough history and assess your neuromusculoskeletal function relative to your presenting complaint. If treatment is suitable on the day, it will be provided during the first session.

Your presentation will be evaluated, and a clear plan will be outlined at your second visit. This is to be created collaboratively, ensuring a pathway forward that meets expectations, embraces evidence-informed care, and is realistic to your particular life situation.

We set aside 45-60 minutes for all initial consultations. Follow-up appointments vary (ranging from 10-40 minutes) depending on the nature of the condition and may include treatment, reassessment, or progressions to your exercise plan.

Private health rebates are available for the majority of funds, with on-the-spot claiming via Tyro.

Medicare rebates apply with a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (GPCCMP) referral from your GP.

Absolutely. Our model is built to complement the care you’re already receiving. We regularly communicate with other health providers, and you’re encouraged to involve your team so everyone is working toward the same goals.

For most people, chiropractic care is very safe. Risk is always assessed individually, and we modify or avoid any techniques that aren’t appropriate for you. If something is outside our scope, we’ll refer to the right provider.

Your plan will depend on your goals and the nature of your condition. Some people only need a short trial of treatment; others benefit from periodic check-ins, strength progressions, and long-term preventative guidance. You’ll always receive a clear, transparent plan.

Many people see us to ‘get ahead’ — to understand how they’re tracking physically, to reduce future risk, and to build long-term resilience. A bespoke  preventative health assessment will be launching in 2026, and is designed to provide clients insight into their healthspan; while the Restorative Session is for existing clients just wanting a ‘tune up’, or to address only minor complaints.

Yes. We create tailored action plans based on your assessment results and can collaborate with your gym or coach to ensure your training aligns with your long-term health goals.
